Youth Stock Sale
The stock sale has begun for our youth that will be attending the ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this July. This is a fun way for members of our congregation to make an investment in these youth of Zion. The purchase of this stock does so much more than just provide money for a trip. It is a way to have a sense of ownership in this mission trip. In addition to the joy of helping our youth, stock holders will also receive a stock holder certificate, along with newsletters before the trip, a postcard while they are on the trip, and a stock holders dinner after the trip. (You don’t get any of that when you purchase Green Bay Packer stock!) Each share of stock is $15, or two shares for $25. For more information, please contact Carla Clark at 715.732.0002 or Lisa Knopik at 715.735.3994.

Annual Meeting-Sunday, January 29th
It is time once again to start talking about the Annual Meeting, so now is a good time to start planning. The Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 29th following the worship service. What do we need to start planning for?
1) If you chair a committee or group in the church, we want to have a report from you to include in our Annual Report. These reports need to be emailed to the church office by January 15th.
2) We will need to audit the financial accounts as soon after the first of the year as possible. Please drop off the books at Zion’s office as soon as possible so that the Auditing Committee can set a date to meet.

Taking Down Christmas Decorations
We are going to be taking down the Christmas decorations after worship this Sunday, January 8th. The more people we have the quicker we can be done. This will take approximately an hour.
A Winter Retreat at St. Norbert Abbey
A Winter Retreat will be held on February 3-4, 2012 at St. Norbert Abby in Green Bay. It’s an overnight retreat, and will begin after supper on Friday and conclude after lunch on Saturday. The theme is “A light shines in the darkness and darkness has not overcome it.” In this darkest time of the year you are invited to a winter retreat at the holy space of St. Norbert Abbey with simple prayer, silence, time for winter walks and rest, we will explore the themes of darkness and light as they appear in scripture and in our daily lives. This overnight retreat provides for private rooms, delicious food and time with fellow travelers in the faith. More information and brochures with registration forms will be available soon. Registration is limited to 20 people. Pastor Lee Goodwin is the Retreat Leader.
