Education

Zion joins with four other congregations in our community to host an educational opportunity for all ages. This opportunity is called Faith Fest. It meets during the school year and takes place at Zion. Presently the other congregations involved are: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Marinette, St. James Lutheran Church of Marinette, Peace United Church of Christ of Marinette, and Bethel Lutheran Church of Menominee.

Faith Fest meets on Wednesday evenings. It begins at 6:00 with a half hour worship service. (Holy Communion is celebrated at the end of each of the three semesters.) The educational hour begins at 6:30.

Classes are available for preschoolers and elementary grades through fifth grade. Confirmation instruction is provided for junior high students from 6th grade through 8th grade. There is a gathering for youth from 9th grade through 12th grade. There is also an adult class which focuses on a wide variety of subjects.

Zion also offers adult education occasionally following the worship service during the fall, winter and spring. Usually these classes explore the basics of the faith.

Joining with other congregations within the community to offer a variety of workshops and special classes is also important to Zion.
