Rev. Doug Schoen, Interim Pastor

With the retirement of Rev. Keith Kolstad after serving as Zion’s Pastor for nearly 24 years, Rev. Doug Schoen was appointed Interim Pastor effective May 1, 2022. Pastor Doug is no stranger to Zion congregation. He and his wife Marilyn have resided in neighboring Menominee, MI since 1980 where he served as Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church until his retirement in 2013. He has continued to serve area churches as a supply preacher in retirement. Marilyn served Zion as one of their organists for 25 years and as choir director for 3 years. During those years they forged many friendships with Zion members. As Interim Pastor, Rev. Doug will serve the congregation’s pastoral needs, preside at worship most Sundays, and lead the congregation through preparing for, interviewing and calling their next full-time pastor.
