This year’s ELCA World Hunger Drive features a daily devotion – for all 40 days of Lent, with Pastor Keith!
Last year, Zion raised $3,147.28 to alleviate world hunger. So far this year, we have raised $2,355!! In addition, a family has promised to match 10% of what is collected during Lent. Encourage their generosity, with yours!
Contributions clearly marked “World Hunger” can be made electronically from: our website, Facebook page or the app called “Give Plus”. Or, if you prefer, you may mail a check to Zion or place it in the offering plate when you commune!
Thank you for your prayerful consideration of what you can do to fight world hunger in 2021. THANK YOU for the contributions previously received!
This brief video is the Lenten Devotion for the Twenty-Second Day of Lent, Saturday, March 13, 2021.
Peace be with you!
There’s so much in this reading to comment about. The first thing I noticed was Jesus’ humanity coming out in the frustration he voices to his disciples. Frustration is so much a part of my life today and I can only assume everyone else’s. How wonderful it is to hear Jesus share his with us!
The second thing is the father’s comment, “I believe, help my unbelief.” There are times I wonder just how strong my belief is; how can I let go and let God. I hope to remember this little sentence and pray it whenever doubts and recrimination come upon me.
